BACON VS THE BAGEL IN THE BATTLE OF THE BULGE

Which one will make you fatter? If you think the bacon and eggs you're WRONG!

The Bacon and Eggs take longer to break down and process through your system.
The carbs in the  Bagel give you the sugar you need for a minute. Then it  allows your body to get the message that it should store fat. The Insulin released in your bloodstream happens quickly and sends your body the message to do what? STORE THE FAT!
It’s not what you thought is it?

The digestion time of the Bacon and Eggs doesn't cause a spike in your Blood Glucose level and it doesn't cause a insulin spike!
I found this cute but informative picture on the internet>  It explains it all. It makes it easy to look at and understand. It shows what happens when we open our mouths and insert FOOD! Protein and Carbs! (see Below)

I'm not saying you should always have bacon and eggs! The point is to look at what your having and choose proteins over carbs.
I'm not a breakfast person at all. I have to force myself most days to put something in my mouth.
But as you heard a 1,000 times before breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
I gets metabolism going for the day. Im not saying you should never have a bagel either. Just read the labels and make the lowest carb choices you can.

It is so easy to grab  cereal, cereal bars, bagels, biscuits, pop tarts, breads, muffins and more from our cabinets. Because they are easy to keep at home. I don't want to forget to mention that they are way cheaper than what is really good for you to eat. I think I was buying way to many carbs when I was doing the coupon thing! I mean I paid little to nothing for cereals, pop tarts, all the bars and snacks mixes... Thinking they were quick easy and healthy but that was WRONG! So WRONG!
They are easy to grab as we walk out the door... but maybe not the best thing for us!

It just isn't the thing to do if you trying to cut back on carbs…

More to come and I hope you’re enjoying the post I am making.
Happy Low Carbing and good luck on your low carb journey!

STRESS IS IT MAKING YOU FAT?

I know I live a hurry, hurry, do more,do more ,do more kind of life. Like most of you do too. It often seems as though there is not enough of me to go around. It often leaves me wishing for a way to clone myself. I always joke about it. Even if I could figure out a way to pull that off. My clones would all be misfits and I would end up taking care them on top of all the things I normally do.. Such as Michael Keaton did in the movie Multiplicity. If you have never seen it you should watch it...LOL!

Back to the is stress making you fat?
Yes! it does! It can raise you blood sugar. Which makes it hard for glucose to get into your cells. I makes us feel hungry! You know it makes us have that "starvin like Marvin" feeling.  It makes us want to eat the bad                                            things FULL OF SUGAR!!!!

It reduces your ability to burn fat. It can make you have hormonal imbalances also. Like we need any help with that as we hit middle age! It can make you have increased belly fat  and it can increase the rate at which your body feels the need to store FAT!
So yes! Stress does play a major role in struggle against FAT!

MAKE TIME FOR YOURSELF! MAKE TIME FOR CLOSING THE DOOR ON EVERYTHING               BOTHERING YOU!  EVEN IF ITS ONLY 5 OR 10 MINUTES AT A TIME!                                   Even if its hiding out in the bathroom for a minute!Just to get away from the chaos or the kids peeking under the door! If you're a mom or dad you will understand what that means!

If you feel the need to reach for a snack in a stressful moment here's some ideas:
Nuts      Cottage Cheese         Greek Yogurt      carrots      any veggies with dip

ham and cheese roll ups                lettuce wrapped hot dog       cheese cubes with ham or turkey

there are tons of things that you can come up with  cucumbers and tomatoes sliced in Italian dressing

Boil eggs      celery with ranch       Slim Jim with cheese      olives    Pickles

The point is for you to reach for something Low Carb instead of the chips, crackers, candy bars, etc...

Wishing you Peace Good Luck and Happiness on your Low Carb Journey!

How could any of us make it on a low carb journey without a cheat day?
Yes! I said a cheat day. Not that you should lose your mind and have every carb insight.  But you need a day that you can look forward to. We usually do Friday or Saturday. The weekend is in store and if you're good all week you should be able to have fun and reward yourself! With a treat!

THINGS YOU CAN HAVE!
So yesterday I told you about things you probably shouldn't have if you are trying to limit carbs to lose weight. So I thought I would share with you some things its okay to have today.
The best way to determine how to balance your intake of carbs is to really think about what you have everyday. Such as drinks any kind with sugar in them. That is just empty calories and yes sugar which means yes they are loaded with carbs. So maybe have water or Tea with Stevia or Splenda. Other options are diet drinks and sugar free drink packets but don't over do it. Mio is another good option. Then you will be cutting carbs already. See it's not hard if you think before you have it.

this is enough for now. There's tons more!!  Hope this post gives you some happiness and understanding to things that are low in carbs... You can have MEAT! You can have CHEESE  you can have Mayo, Ranch Dressing, Butter, Sour Cream all the things you truly love!
